The 6th (And Last) Day

We got up and started driving to Brisbane. We stopped at a Cobb And Co. stop for breakfast.

After breakfast we drove to Toowoomba where we re now.

Soon we will arrive In Brisbane.

The 6th Day

We got up at five-thirty to get a  head start. 

We got to Augthella home of the meat ants.

Then we went to Roma and it started raining :( We got back in the car and drove to 

Chinchilla and went to a park for lunch.  Then we went to a motel and  stopped for the night.

The 5th Day (continued)

We went to Barcaldine and saw the Tree Of Knowledge. The Australian Labour Party first met at the tree and founded one of the most successful parties in Australia.

Then we went to Barcaldine and went to the black stump.

Then we went to the Barcaldine pool and had a swim in the hot spring.

We drove to Tambo and stopped at the pub for the night. 

The 6th Day

We woke up and went to the bakery for a breakfast then we went to the dinosaur fossil centre near Winton. A man called George showed us around the museum of amazing fossils. 

Then we drove to Ilfracome for lunch. We looked at the old steam trains and cars in the centre of town.

The 5th Day (continued)

We left the pub and drove to Winton.

When we got to the town we booked into the 

North Gregory Hotel then we went for a look at the royal dechair cinema and saw the worlds largest dechair in the main st. We went to the park for  a lunch of chicken and lettuce sandwiches. 

We went to the Waltzing Matilda Centre 

and looked at the remarkable poem Waltzing Matilda.
We went to a pub near the hotel for dinner then we went to sleep.

       

The 5th Day

We got up early and drove to Mckinlay and stopped at the Walkabout Creek pub

We continued on and got to Kynuna and went to the Blue Heeler Pub and wrote our names on the walls...  to be continued

Day 4 (continued)

...we drove from Camooweal to Mount Isa where we had a swim at the public pool.

The water was as cold as ice! Brrrrrr. 

We drove to Cloncurry where we stopped for the night.

As we were in a  hotel with a fridge we enjoyed a few luxuries like MILK! Yum, real food! ( not spam eg...)

The 4th Day

We get up early to get a head start before it get to hot.( It has been so hot in the last

Few days; 38!) After many hours of driving we see a lone sign in the distance... could it be... It is, the NT border!

We snap some pics and keep going. We get to Camoweal and take a picture at the servo.

The Third Day

Off we go again! 

After many hours of driving we get to Elliot where we stop for fuel. Next

We travel to ThreeWays where we stop for lunch.

Finally we reach The Barkley Homestead where we stop for the night.

Stopping

We stopped at Dunmarra to camp for the night. We saw a 

buffalo near our camp and we snapped a picture with it.

The meals were delicious! We had lamb chops with parmesan sauce. mmmm...
